Yesterday LEICE attended the virtual seminar between OUC and DTU, about the Doppler LiDAR activities in wind energy. OUC and LEICE team introduced its latest research results and technology development of doppler wind lidars, water vapor/clouds/aerosol raman lidar and ocean lidar.  The DTU also presented its new achievements on wind resource survey and assessment, wind field detection of complex terrain, dynamic monitoring of turbine wake, atmospheric turbulence detection and analysis. 

The seminar also attracted experts from Cornell University, Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth, Chinese Academy of Sciences and National Meteorological Satellite Center of China Meteorological Administration.

The attendees also had a discussion on the application prospects and research direction of doppler wind lidars in the fields of smart wind power, turbine safety assurance and wind power efficiency improvement.
